SMS Channels Program Policy
SMS Channels program policy plays an important role in
maintaining a positive experience for SMS Channel users. These
set of policies also help us curb abuse that threaten our ability to
provide this service. We ask that everyone abide by the
Terms of Service
and these standards so that we can all enjoy using SMS Channels.
Violation of these policies may result in the denial of SMS Channels
access or deletion of your Google Account. These policies may
change at any time, so please check back here from time to time.
Spam, Malware and Phishing
We're all responsible for keeping SMS Channels free of spam.
Don't transmit viruses, worms, defects, Trojan horses, malware,
or any other items of a destructive nature.
We don't allow content that harms or interferes with the operation
of the networks, servers, or other infrastructure of Google,
carriers, or any third-parties.
Spam, malicious scripts and password phishing scams are also prohibited
on SMS Channels. Spam may include, but is not limited to:
unwanted advertising, unwanted messages to a channel in order to
promote your own channel, unrelated posts within channels,
and the use of automated means to perform actions such as
sending messages or creating channels.
If you would like to create a channel to post news or information
about your favorite products or to promote your business,
you may do so only if you explicitly indicate your channel's purpose
in the title and description of your channel.
As a general rule, if your users aren't expecting to get promotional
material and feel that it's unrelated to the channel, then it's spam.
Sexually Explicit Material
We don't allow Channels, posts or other content that contain
sexually explicit material. We also don’t allow content with the
purpose of driving traffic to commercial pornography sites.
Google has a zero-tolerance policy against child pornography.
If we become aware of child pornography or content linking
to child pornography, we may deny access to SMS Channels,
terminate your account, notify law enforcement authorities,
or take other appropriate action.

SMS Channels should not contain materials that threaten,
harass or bully other users.
Hate Speech

people based on their race or ethnic origin, religion, disability,
gender, age, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity.

Only users 18 years of age or older are permitted to use SMS
Channels, and users under 18 must have their parent or legal guardian's
permission to use SMS Channels. If we become aware that a user is under
18, we will delete his/her account.
Impersonation
We don't allow impersonation of others or other behavior that
is misleading or intended to be misleading.

- Insulting or defaming any religion, including religious figures or scriptures;
- Content that is likely to promote disharmony or enmity or incite violence on the basis of
religion, race, place of birth, language, caste or community; and
- Seditious content against the state.
If found engaging in such activities, we may deny access to SMS Channels, terminate your account,
notify law enforcement authorities, or take other appropriate action.
Reporting Abuse
If you believe that someone is violating these program policies, you can report this abuse in two
ways. If you are online, click on the "Flag as inappropriate" button on the channel page. You can
also report the violation by replying to a SMS message from the violating channel with the message
"flag <channel name>".
If you flag content for abuse or violation of our policies, we'll review your report and take
action if appropriate. Not all reports result in removal. We understand that sometimes people can
do harm without meaning to, so we consider these cases carefully.
